Susan has been a family lawyer for 30 years and since 1989 she has represented children in the Family Court. Susan has been a mediator for 20 years and she has conducted over 100 mediations. She assists parties to resolve matters effectively. As an FDR mediator she is accredited with NZ Law Society, AMINZ and LEADR. She holds mediations in the Waikato and other regions.

Minka is a LEADR Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Provider and has been an Accredited Panel Member of LEADR since June 2011. Having practised Family Law for over 10 years amidst raising four children, she is committed to families and parents making their own safe care arrangements for children.

Denise has 2 adult children. She has qualified as a primary school teacher, lawyer and mediator. She has been working as a family lawyer for over 20 years now. Denise has been assisting families to resolve disputes and to develop parenting plans as a mediator since September 2012.

Anita is passionate about empowering families to sustainable and positive life changing outcomes for generations to come.

Kay studied for her Law Degree at Waikato University, graduating with First Class Honours. Kay is a qualified Mediator and frequently leads Family Dispute Resolution Mediations. The Family Court appoints Kay to act for children in family disputes. In 2011 Kay received the Family Law Award and in 2012 Kay received the New Zealand Litigation and Dispute Resolution Award at the annual New Zealand Law Awards.  When Kay is not at work, she cherishes time with her family and walking the dog. In the winter she can often be found on the mountain, skiing.

Kathy has 25 years' experience as a Family Court Lawyer. Initially practicing in England before emigrating 22 years ago. She is an approved Lawyer for Child, having held this role for 17 years. Kathy also acts for youths aged 14-17 as a Youth Advocate and has extensive involvementwith MVCOT Oranga Tamariki. Kathy has a passion for resolving matters without judicial intervention whenever possible. Family Dispute Resolution is an ideal way to do this. Kathy is a qualified Mediator with 5 years' experience. She has convened Mediations to resolve a range of matters including domestic violence and child protection.

Simon has an LLB (hons) from Sheffield University and was admitted to the bar in New Zealand in 2000. He has been a barrister sole since 2008, specializing in Family Law. Simon has been a District Inspector (Mental Health) since 2011 and is an experienced Family Court mediator. Originally from England, Simon has lived in Rotorua since 1994.
Johnathan Ruthven

Jonathan studied Law and Arts at Auckland University graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters of Arts with Honours. After graduating Jonathan worked as a Senior Crown prosecutor and as a Youth Justice Specialist Lawyer before leaving in 2010 to pursue a long standing interest in family lawyer and dispute resolution. Jonathan regularly appears in the Family Court and is often appointed by the Court to represent the needs of children. Jonathan is passionate about empowering people through mediation to find their own solutions to what is best for them and their children.
John Wickham-Nelson

John Wickham-Nelson

John has a background in counselling and Family Mediation. He previously worked for Relationships Aotearoa and Family Works Central (Whanganui) providing counselling, coaching, facilitation of the Parenting through Separation Programme and Mediation Services for adults and families. John has worked with children whose parents are separated so he holds a strong insight into what children need when parents separate. John is committed to assisting parents and family/whanau members reaching the best care arrangements for what will be in the children’s best interests for a bright and happy future.
